Now just a little note on skills development. Your skills development isn’t just about the traditional view of attending a course. It’s everything you do to get better or faster for example:

  1. Finding and learning a new tool,
  2. Establishing better or repeatable processes,
  3. “Post-Mortem” work reviews to identify and eliminate problem areas,
  4. Finding shortcuts to make your work faster or,
  5. Getting feedback & suggestions from the “customers” of your job. Such as your boss.

The idea is to invest some time to:

  • Produce better results,
  • Save you time or,
  • Improve your confidence.

When you invest in your job then you’ll perform better which is an enabler for so many other things:

  • Money: Get better promotions, bonuses and increases
  • Time: Never have enough time? Getting more efficient at what you do and effective with your time is the way to set yourself free
